The Monroe CC softball team extended their winning streak to 15 games with a doubleheader sweep of Alfred State on Tuesday afternoon.  The Tribunes, the two-time defending NJCAA Division III champion and currently ranked #2 in the nation, won 13-1 and 8-0 to improve to 23-9 on the year.  ASC has dropped its last eight games and falls to 8-18 on the season.

Bridgett Bachert (Horseheads) tripled and scored on a Shelly Flint (Alfred Almond) single to account for the Blue and Gold's lone run of the day in the opener.

In the nightcap, Casey Downing (Cobleskill Richmondville) finished 1 for 2 with a triple as the Lady Pioneers were held to just two hits in the contest.

Alfred State returns home on Thursday for their final Western New York Athletic Conference contest of the season versus Jamestown CC.  First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 3 p.m.
