Men's Swim team remains perfect in Invites, Women finish 4th

The Alfred State College men's swim team won their fourth invitational title on Saturday as they claimed the Erie CC Invitational crown.  The women's team finished 4th out of six teams.

The Alfred State College men's swim team won their fourth invitational title on Saturday as they claimed the Erie CC Invitational crown.  The women's team finished 4th out of six teams.

Brett Kozlowski (N. Tonawanda) won the 200 IM (2:11.48) and finished 2nd in the 200 breaststroke (2:25.57) and the 500 free (5:11.14).  Garrett Chilson (Pioneer) won the one meter diving competition with a score of 1:26.95. The Pioneers 400 free relay team (3:28.35) and 400 medley relay team (3:59.02) each claimed first place as well.

Other top performances on the men's side came from Dan Langworthy (Peekskill), Alex Newell (Binghamton), and Paul Congdon (Bath).  Langworthy finished 2nd in the 50 free (23.67) and 4th in the 100 free (52.84), Newell finished 3rd in the 200 free (1:56.62) and the 200 back (2:14.12), and 4th in the 500 free (5:21.20), while Congdon finished 4th in the 200 IM (2:21.83) and 5th in the 200 fly (2:31.12) and 200 back (2:35.93).

Kaitlyn Corbett (Clarence) was tough again on the women's side.  She finished 2nd in the 200 free (2:14.77) and 200 back (2:31.06), and 3rd in the 50 free (27.32).  Becca Mastasio (Livonia) finished 4th in the 100 free (1:03.37) and 6th in the 200 free (2:22.7).

Both the women's 400 medley relay (5:34.85) and 400 free relay (4:48.43) finished 3rd.

The men's team scored 307 and finished above Monroe CC's 284 points.  The women scored 115 while Monroe CC won the women's competition with 502 points.

ASC dives back into action next Saturday at the SUNY Delhi Invitational.  Action is set for a 1 p.m. start.
