The Alfred State College men's swimming team continued its season with a 4th place finish at the Erie CC Invitational. ASC scored 204 points in the competition that featured six teams competing at the Flickenger Center.

The Alfred State College men's swimming team continued its season with a 4th place finish at the Erie CC Invitational.  ASC scored 204 points in the competition that featured six teams competing at the Flickenger Center.

Mark Pendleton (Beacon/Beacon) led the way for the blue & gold by winning the 200 breast (2:32.93) and finishing 3rd in the 400 IM (4:53.95).Josh Stellrecht (Basom/Oakfield Alabama) was 4th in the 1650 free (20:24.97) and 4th in the 200 back (2:27.56) while Jake Giglio (Hornell) was 5th in the 50 free (24.06) and 8th in the 100 free (55.01).

The 800 free relay team (Stellrecht, Josh McDowell - Wayland Cohocton -, Giglio, and Pendleton) finished 2nd in 8:33.19 while the 400 medley relay team (Stellrecht, Pendleton, Giglio, and McDowell) finished 3rd in 4:15.19.

Maggie McBurney (Jamesville Dewitt) scored 14 points on the day on the women's side with a 9th place finish in the 400 IM (6:19.61) and a 12th place finish in the 500 free (6:59.29).

The Pioneers host their second and final home meet of the season on Wednesday when they welcome Jamestown CC to the Orvis Pool.  Action is slated for a 6 p.m. start.
