The Alfred State College women's basketball team raced out to an early lead and never looked back in a 85-39 victory over Roberts Wesleyan JV on Thursday evening.  The Lady Pioneers have now won three in a row and are 3-1 on the year.

The Alfred State College women's basketball team raced out to an early lead and never looked back in a 85-39 victory over Roberts Wesleyan JV on Thursday evening.  The Lady Pioneers have now won three in a row and are 3-1 on the year.

Brittney Brooks (Elmira Free) led the way for ASC with 23 points while Danielle Conway (Bainbridge Guilford) finished with 16.  Ayana Rhodes (Cleremont, FL) added a season high 15 points, five assists, and four steals.  Kim Winquist (Wilson) came off the bench and chipped in four points, eight rebounds, and four blocks.

Margaret Male led the Raiders with 16 points while Jaimie Sedlack finished with seven points and six boards.

ASC shot 41% from the field and 72.2% from the foul line while Roberts was held to 21.2% shooting and 40.9% shooting from the line.  The Raiders were slowed by 29 turnovers.

The blue & gold return to action on Saturday when they host Orange CC at 3 p.m.
