The Alfred State College volleyball team rallied to win the final two games and down Niagara CCC 3-2 (23-25, 26-24, 23-25, 25-15, 15-7) in a WNYAC battle in Sanborn on Tuesday evening.  ASC, ranked #9 in the last NJCAA Division III poll, improves to 11-1 while NCCC, ranked #10 in the NJCAA DIII poll, falls to 7-2.

The Alfred State College volleyball team rallied to win the final two games and down Niagara CCC 3-2 (23-25, 26-24, 23-25, 25-15, 15-7) in a WNYAC battle in Sanborn on Tuesday evening.  ASC, ranked #9 in the last NJCAA Division III poll, improves to 11-1 while NCCC, ranked #10 in the NJCAA DIII poll, falls to 7-2.

Yurika Toyodome (Tokyo, Japan) led the way with 17 kills without an error, nine digs, three blocks, and 20 service points.  Emily Linn (Portville) chipped in 19 kills and six blocks, Jenni Jerome (Syracuse/Westhill) finished with 13 kills, six digs, and three blocks, while Breanna Horton (Owego Free) passed out 45 assists.  Miki Inoue (Kumamoto, Japan) and Christina Nolan (Niagara Wheatfield) each chipped in 16 digs.

The Lady Pioneers now shift their focus to this weekend's Onondaga CC Tournament.  On Friday the team is scheduled to play Mohawk Valley CC, Erie CC, and Fulton Montgomery CC.  They continue play on Saturday with a match versus Onondaga CC with tournament playoffs beginning later in the day.
