Hannah's Hat Trick Leads Lady Pioneers

Brittany Hannah (Eastridge) recorded her first career hat trick as the Alfred State College women's soccer team downed Jamestown CC 6-3 in a WNYAC match on Saturday.  With the win the Pioneers even up their record at 3-3-1 on the year.

Brittany Hannah (Eastridge) recorded her first career hat trick as the Alfred State College women's soccer team downed Jamestown CC 6-3 in a WNYAC match on Saturday.  With the win the Pioneers even up their record at 3-3-1 on the year.

After Jamestown's Jen Territo gave the Jayhawks a 1-0 lead four minutes into the game Holly Fitzpatrick (Hornell) tied the game up eight minutes later when she scored after getting a pass from Hannah.

Keturah Hall made it 2-1 with 30 minutes left after getting a pass from Kim Raynor.  Hannah tied it up four minutes later and Jody Ninos (Alfred Almond) gave The Lady Pioneers the lead for good when she scored with 18 minutes remaining in the half.  Ashleigh Houghtaling (Northern Potter, PA) made it 4-2 heading into halftime when she netted her third goal of the season.

Hall opened up the scoring the 2nd half to pull the Jayhawks within 4-3 but Hannah scored a pair of goals at 23 minutes remaining and 6 minutes remaining to seal the victory.

Hannah lead the Lady Pioneers with eight goals and two assists on the season.

Philicia Harris (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) got the win iin net making nine saves.

A-State returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to Batavia to take on WNYAC foe Genesee CC at 4 p.m.
