Four Lady Pioneers Named All-Region

Four members of the Alfred State women's soccer team have been named All-Region. Kali Muhleisen (Alfred Almond), Hannah Holmok (Alfred Almond), Kelsey Murray (Greece Olympia) and Maura Tuffey (Albany/Holy Names) were all 1st team selections.

Four members of the Alfred State women's soccer team have been named All-Region.  Kali Muhleisen (Alfred Almond), Hannah Holmok (Alfred Almond), Kelsey Murray (Greece Olympia) and Maura Tuffey (Albany/Holy Names) were all 1st team selections.


Muhleisen led the Pioneers with 31 goals and eight assists on the season.  The 70 points was top on the team an tied for 3rd in the country.  The 31 goals third best in the country.  She scored in 15 of the Lady Pioneers games this season.  She scored more than once in ten games and recorded six hat tricks.  Muhleisen recorded 7-point games (three goals and an assist) in wins over Roberts Wesleyan JV and Penn College.


Holmok was second on the team with 30 points, 12 goals and six assists.  She recorded points in all but eight games and scored two goals twice on the year.  Her top performance came in a 6-0 win over Mercyhurst North East when she had two goals and an assist.


Murray and Tuffey patrolled the defensive backfield for the Lady Pioneers.  The defense helped the Lady Pioneers to 15 shutouts on the year and a 0.47 goals against average.  The blue & gold allowed only nine goals in the 19 games played this season.  Murray did not record a point on the season but Tuffey passed out two assists.


All four Lady Pioneers were named All-WNYAC earlier in the offseason.  Alfred State finished the season 17-2 and were ranked as high as #1 in the NJCAA DIII poll. They ended the year with the #7 ranking.
