Eight members of the Alfred State College outdoor track & field team have earned All-Region honors based on winning events at last weekend's Region III Championships.

Eight members of the Alfred State College outdoor track & field team have earned All-Region honors based on winning events at last weekend's Region III Championships.

Najia McGee (Rochester/Edison) and Reaghan Bulkley (Avoca) were named All-Region in multiple events.  McGee won the 100 m dash (12.79) and the 200 m dash (26.20) while Bulkley won the long jump with a leap of 4.89 m.  McGee and Bulkley also teammed with Callie Ayers (Letchworth) and Caitlyn Peterson (Wayne) in the 4 x 100 relay to win with a time of 50.46.

On the men's side all the All-Region honors came in field events.  Broncho Rollins (Ithaca) won the pole vault with a performance of 4.38 m, Keenan Hall (Monticello) won the discus with a toss of 36.79 m, Nathan Smith (Clymer) won the hammer throw with a mark of 43.30 m., and Dan Fabiny (Wellsville) registered a throw of 44.47 m to win the javelin.

These eight athletes along with their teammates will begin competition at the NJCAA Division III Championships held at SUNY Delhi on Thursday.  Events run until Saturday afternoon.  The women's team is the defending national champion while the men finished 2nd in 2007.
