Alfred State College's School of Applied Technology, Wellsville, will host its 10th annual postsecondary (college level) NYS SkillsUSA (formerly Vocational Industrial Clubs of America) competition Saturday, March 29.

Students from Alfred State College, Culinary Institute of America, and SUNY Delhi, will compete in the following areas - automotive service, auto body, technical drafting, carpentry, CNC milling, commercial baking, culinary, diesel technology, masonry, precision machining, residential wiring, and welding.

The winners of these contests will compete in the national contest in June in Kansas City, MO.

Contestants will arrive on Friday, March 28, to preview the laboratories for the skills contests. Competitions begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 29. The judges determine the winners by 4:30 p.m. An award ceremony follows at 6 p.m. in the Student Dining Hall on the Wellsville campus.
