2013 SkillsUSA winnerrsAlfred State’s School of Applied Technology, Wellsville, hosted the 15th annual New York State Postsecondary (college level) SkillsUSA competition on Saturday, April 6. Winners will compete in the National SkillsUSA competition in Kansas City in June.

Alfred State’s School of Applied Technology, Wellsville, hosted the 15th annual New York State Postsecondary (college level) SkillsUSA competition on Saturday, April 6. Competitions took place in automotive refinishing, automotive service, carpentry, commercial baking, culinary, electrical construction wiring, masonry, technical drafting, and welding. Schools competing this year were Culinary Institute of America, SUNY Delhi, and Alfred State. Winners will compete in the National SkillsUSA competition in Kansas City in June.

AUTOMOTIVE REFINISHING –

  • THIRD PLACE winning the BRONZE MEDAL: Ryan McArdell, Baldwinsville (AS)

SkillsUSA is a national organization that serves trade, industrial, technical, and health occupations and students in public high schools, vocational centers, and colleges. They serve over 290,000 students and instructors nationwide.

Alfred State was the first college in New York State to establish a student organization for postsecondary SkillsUSA and continues to lead in this process.
