The college community is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Eric Michael Green. Eric, previously reported missing, was located in Almond, NY. At this time, the evidence shows no foul play.

The college community is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Eric Michael Green. Eric, previously reported missing, was located in Almond, NY. At this time, the evidence shows no foul play. A native of Alfred, Eric who was the son of Distinguished Teaching Professor, Michelle Green, resided on campus and was a first-year student enrolled in the computer information systems program.

“Eric and the Green family have been part of our community for many years and we mourn his loss” said Alfred State Interim President Valerie Nixon. “We would like to thank all of those who expressed concerns since the moment Eric was reported missing.”

Alfred State’s Health and Wellness Services will be staying open this evening for extended hours until 8 p.m. and will also be open tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 23, from 1 to 4 p.m. for students, faculty, and staff who would like to speak with someone. At any time, resources can be accessed through either University Police at 607-587-3999 or by calling the residence director on duty at 607-382-1239 (or ext. 5551 from any on campus phone).

The Office of the President will pass along any information regarding service arrangements for Eric as they are made known.
