Award Amounts:
$500 scholarship (paid in the spring semester of the year awarded).
Eligibility:
Available to students who are enrolled in Alfred State College for the fall semester.
Application Requirements:
- Electronically submit application via the ASC website.
- Answer all questions.
- Complete all essay questions.
Application Timetable:
- Submissions must be received no later than Dec. 8 each year.
- The recipient will be notified no later than Jan. 15.
Selection Process:
Submissions will be reviewed by the Kappa Sigma Epsilon Alumni Association for selection.
Payment Details:
The award will be paid in the spring semester. Students must maintain a 2.00 GPA for the spring credit.
Application:
Please answer the following three essay questions in the space provided below.
1. Describe what the below quote means from your perspective. “To fight a bull when you’re not scared is nothing, and not to fight a bull when you are scared is nothing, but to fight a bull when you are scared - that is something.”
2. When was the last time you faced an unexpected setback? What happened? What did you do to overcome it?
3. Is there any other information we should know about you? This is your opportunity to include information that is not contained in other areas of the application. Please be specific.
