Alfred State College Hosts New York State Postsecondary SkillsUSA Competition

Alfred State College held its 10th annual New York State postsecondary SkillsUSA competition on March 29, 2008. Sixty-four students from Alfred State College, SUNY Delhi, and the Culinary Institute of America (Hyde Park) competed in 12 vocational and leadership skill areas. Read Article

Construction Management Technology Program Granted Reaccreditation

The construction management technology program at Alfred State College has been granted reaccreditation by the board of trustees of the American Council for Construction Education.  The program has maintained the stringent standards of ACCE and has proven to the board, through a visiting team of its peers and industry practitioners, that the program is worthy of reaccreditation.      Read Article

Men Ranked 5th, Women 6th in latest Track Poll

The Alfred State College outdoor track and field team remains in the top ten of the latest NJCAA Division III poll.  The men are currently ranked #5 while the women are ranked #6. Read Article

Smith and McLaughlin Named All-American

Alfred State College sophomores Anthia Smith (Elmira Free) and Tiffany McLaughlin (Wellsville) have been named NJCAA Division II All-Americans.  Smith was selected to the 2nd team while McLaughlin was a 3rd team selection.  Read Article

Campus is Saddened by Loss of Student

The campus community is saddened to learn of the death of Anthony Carino, who died Friday evening in a Rochester-area hospital.  Cause of death has not been released by the hospital. Anthony was a senior in Alfred State College's architectural technology program.  College officials-on behalf of the entire campus community-extend their deepest sympathy to Anthony's family and friends. Big Third Quarter Leads Lacrosse to Win

The Alfred State College lacrosse team scored 12 unanswered goals to erase a 7-5 halftime deficit to en route to a 19-8 victory over Cayuga CC on Tuesday evening.  The win improves the Pioneers to 4-1 (3-0 Region III). Read Article

Lady Pioneers sweep Erie

The Alfred State College softball team ran their winning streak to four games with a doubleheader sweep at Erie CC.  The Lady Pioneers improve to 5-7 on the season with 23-1 and 5-2 victories. Read Article

Baseball Sweeps Tompkins Cortland

The Alfred State College baseball team jumped over .500 with a home doubleheader sweep of Tompkins Cortland CC on Tuesday.  ASC scored a run in the 7th to win the opener 3-2 and then got the offense going in a 11-2 victory in game two.  The Pioneers are now 10-9-1 on the season. Read Article

57th Annual Alumni Choral Spring Concert Scheduled

Alfred State College presents the 57thAnnual Alumni Choral Spring concert, under the direction of Anthony Cappadonia, ASC director of vocal music emeritus.  The concert will be held Sunday, April 20, at 2 p.m. in the Orvis Activities Center Auditorium on the Alfred State College campus. The concert is open to the public free of charge and features the Alfred State College Alumni Choir; the Alumni Jazz Singers, the '87 Collegiate Quartet, and Andy's A cappella Armada. Read Article
