Monroe trips up ASC

The Monroe CC softball team extended their winning streak to 15 games with a doubleheader sweep of Alfred State on Tuesday afternoon.  The Tribunes, the two-time defending NJCAA Division III champion and currently ranked #2 in the nation, won 13-1 and 8-0 to improve to 23-9 on the year.  ASC has dropped its last eight games and falls to 8-18 on the season. SUNY Chancellor Honors Student Excellence

Two Alfred State College graduating seniors were named State University of New York (SUNY) 2008 Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence winners. Car Care Awareness Day

Students enrolled in the Automotive Trades curriculums at Alfred State College celebrated National Car Care Month recently when they hosted their annual Car Care Awareness Day in mid-April, on the School of Applied Technology Campus, Wellsville, with a variety of free services, including checks of the following items:  lights, fluids, tires, battery, belts and pulleys, and an under-hood inspection.  Read Article

A-State falls to Herkimer

The Alfred State College lacrosse team led #1 Herkimer CCC 5-4 after the first quarter but the Generals got the offense going and outscored the Pioneers 25 to 6 the rest of the way for the 29-11 victory.  HCCC outscored ASC 11 to 3 in the 2nd and 8 to 0 in the 3rd to take control of the contest.  #1 Herkimer is now 10-1 on the year while the Pioneers fall to 7-4 (6-3 Region III). Reynolds finishes 6th, Farrell in 7th in Decathlon

Alfred State College's Dan Reynolds (Wayland Cohocton) finished 6th in the Region III Decathlon Championship.  Teammate Paul Farrell (St. Francis) is in 7th. Read Article

Students Give Up A Meal

Alfred State College students once again participated in the Student Senate and ACES (Auxiliary Campus Enterprises and Services, the campus dining and vending organization) sponsored "Give Up A Meal" (GUAM) program whereby students who donate a "meal punch" help raise money for charity.   Read Article
