The Alfred State College women’s soccer team snapped a two-game losing streak by downing NJCAA Division I Bryant & Stratton 2-1 in double overtime. With the win the Lady Pioneers improve to 3-2 (2-2 Region III Division III play) on the season.
Therese Hubbel (Bishop Kearney) scored just 33 seconds into the 2nd overtime to give ASC the victory. She found the back of the net after getting a pass from Jessie Smith (Fredonia).
Bryant & Stratton got on the board at 32:42 of the 1st half when Avanell Isaac scored on a break-a-way. Alfred State tied it 36 seconds into the 2nd half when Brittany Hannah (Eastridge) scored.
The Lady Bobcats held a 15 to 12 advantage on shots. Meghan Lowell (Keshequa) made eleven saves for Alfred State while Kate Guererri made six saves.
Alfred State continues their home stand on Friday when they host Jamestown CC at 4 p.m.
