ASC Will Celebrate 100th Birthday, Thursday, May 8

Alfred State College will celebrate its 100th birthday on Thursday, May 8, 2008, with a day-long schedule of events to be held on the Alfred campus. Beginning at 11 a.m., the campus community will dedicate a "centennial bench" overlooking the academic quad. Read Article

Boys Like Girls Played at ASC

Baseball Cancelled for Thursday

Due to poor weather earlier in the spring Lakeland (OH) CC has been forced to cancel its contest with Alfred State on Thursday.  The Lakers have been forced to make-up earlier conference rainouts.  No make-up date has been announced. Read Article

Pioneers suffer first Region III defeat

The Alfred State College lacrosse team fell 17-6 to Monroe CC in the first ever night contest at the new on-campus athletic complex.  The Pioneers see their five game winning streak come to an end and suffer their first Region III loss.  The Blue and Gold are now 6-2 (5-1 Region III) while the Tribunes improve to 6-4. Lady Pioneers split with Niagara

The Alfred State College softball team split a doubleheader with Niagara CCC on Tuesday evening.  The Blazers won the opener 9-3 but the Lady Pioneers bounced back to win the nightcap 10-7.  ASC is now 8-10 on the season and 5-4 in Region III Division III play. Read Article

Pioneers Make it Nine Straight

The Alfred State College baseball team ran its winning streak to nine games with a doubleheader sweep of Ithaca College JV on Tuesday afternoon.  The Pioneers improved to 16-9-1 on the year with 10-0 and 5-4 victories. Read Article

Kellogg Article Published

Dr. Richard Kellogg, professor of psychology at Alfred State College, is the author of an article appearing in the most recent issue of The Baker Street Journal.  Titled "The Case-Book of Prince Zaleski," the article reviews the life of British writer M. P. Shiel and discusses his most famous literary creation, the brilliant detective Prince Zaleski. Read Article
