First-Place Winners Announced For SkillsUSA Day Leadership Conference and Skills Olympics

Students from Region I BOCES (Board of Cooperative Education and Services) districts--encompassing Western New York and the Southern Tier--competed recently in a SkillsUSA (formerly Vocational Industrial Clubs of America) Day leadership conference and skills Olympics at Alfred State College, on both the Wellsville and Alfred campuses, earlier this month. Chinese Delegation Visits ASC

Through the efforts of Office of International Education, Alfred State College hosted a delegation from China on March 22. The delegation consisted of 16 leaders from the Chinese education department, colleges, and high schools. Read Article

Electrical Engineering Department Hosts Jamestown Technical Academy

The Electrical Engineering Department at Alfred State College recently hosted 15 high school students from the Jamestown Technical Academy for a day-long workshop which provided an overview of programs offered by that department. Read Article

Pioneers Earn Win & Tie at Lackawanna

The Alfred State College baseball team began the Northern portion of their season with a pair of extra innings contests at Lackawanna College.  The Pioneers won the opener 7-5 in eight innings while the nightcap finished tied at 4-4 after eight innings. Read Article

"Think Pink" Charity Game Scheduled

The 2008 Alfred State College annual charity basketball game will be colored pink.  Proceeds of the 3rd annual event to be held April 2 will be donated to the Kay Yow WBCA Cancer Fund.  The "Think Pink" Charity game will tip off at 7 p.m. in the Orvis Activities Center. Read Article
