Col. Timothy J. LaBarge will address Alfred State’s 2013 graduates

This ceremony – the college’s 102nd Commencement – will be dedicated to veterans and those currently serving in the United States Armed Forces and will also feature a special tribute through a flyover of “W7,” a C-47 that was one of the lead aircraft in the first strike at D-Day in Normandy, France, during WWII. Students Compete in CSRI Case Study Competition

As part of the competition, the Alfred State team developed a solution paper containing a detailed analysis of conference realignment in college athletics and presented their findings and recommendations to a panel of expert judges in Chapel Hill. Read Article

Alfred State Accepted in NCAA

The NCAA Division III Management Council announced today that Alfred State has been accepted as provisional members. The announcement moves Alfred State into NCAA DIII competition starting in the 2013-14 school year. Read Article

Student displays from six local school districts (Prattsburgh, Hinsdale, Addison, Andover, Canaseraga, Homeschool) were judged at Alfred State’s 14th Annual Regional Science and Technology Fair. Read Article

2013 SkillsUSA Postsecondary Championship Results

Alfred State’s School of Applied Technology, Wellsville, hosted the 15th annual New York State Postsecondary (college level) SkillsUSA competition on Saturday, April 6. Winners will compete in the National SkillsUSA competition in Kansas City in June. Read Article

Alfred State to Celebrate “Earth Week”

Alfred State, in partnership with Alfred University and Alfred residents, has announced a week-long series of events planned in celebration of Earth Day. The events, which begin on Sunday, April 21 and run through Sunday, April 28, include movie showings, service opportunities, outdoor activities, and social functions. Read Article

62nd Annual Alumni Choral Spring Concert Scheduled

Alfred State is pleased to present the 62nd Annual Alumni Choral Spring Concert, directed by Anthony Cappadonia, professor emeritus of music at Alfred State. The concert will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the Anthony C. Cappadonia Auditorium, Orvis Activities Center, on the Alfred campus, and is free of charge and open to the public. "New Voices: A Showcase of One Acts" to be featured April 19 & 20

"New Voices: A Showcase of One Acts" is a collaboration between Hornell Community Theatre and Alfred State Drama Club to encourage people interested in theater to try new roles. Five short one-acts are being produced as a show to allow individuals from the greater Hornell community and Alfred State to try their hand at directing, acting, script writing, or other creative aspects of theater.
