Dr.
Richard Kellogg, professor of psychology at Alfred State College, is the author
of an article appearing in the most recent issue of Paperback Parade, a
quarterly magazine published by Gryphon Books of Brooklyn. Titled "Philip
Wylie's Final Dream," the article notes that author Philip Wylie
(1902-1971) was writing about global warming, contamination of our air and
water, and the grave risks of nuclear power long before these issues reached
public consciousness.

E. Pennisi, instructor in the digital media and animation program of Alfred
State College, has an exhibit in the Wellsville Creative Arts Center through

State College was the recipient, earlier this month, of the Outstanding Humane
Organization Collaborative Award, presented by the Finger Lakes SPCA.
This award "recognizes the extraordinary compassion and collaborative spirit
with the Finger Lakes SPCA for the benefit of those who cannot speak for
themselves." Alfred State College (students, faculty, and staff)
supported the August 2008 Equine Rescue led by the Finger Lakes SPCA.
