SUNY Financial Aid Day - Feb. 27

The Alfred State College Office of Student Financial Services (Financial Aid/Student Accounts) will participate in SUNY Financial Aid Day, Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, beginning at 9 a.m., in the EJ Brown Business Building – Room 414, on the Alfred campus. There will be a brief overview of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and of the financial aid process. Following this session, financial aid staff will accompany students and their guests to computer labs in the same building to assist them in completing and submitting the 2010-11 FAFSA electronically. WINS Club Fund Raiser For Local Family

Alfred State College’s WINS Club (Women in Non-traditional Studies--though membership is open to all students) recently conducted its annual fund raiser to buy presents for a local family sponsored by Steuben Rural Ministry of Canisteo. Food and Gift Drive For Soldiers

The SkillsUSA Club members of Alfred State College’s School of Applied Technology recently conducted a food and gift drive for the soldiers fighting overseas. Members placed collection boxes in each department on campus and collected and mailed nine boxes of foodstuffs and other items. Read Article

Alfred State Receives $121K Estate Gift

Alfred State College has announced that it has received an estate gift of approximately $121,000 from Dorothy and Lester Reynolds. The Reynolds designated that the gift be used to establish a prize to be awarded annually to the student demonstrating the greatest achievement in the field of mathematics. Read Article
