Students Travel to Cleveland for Workshop

Six students enrolled in Alfred State’s sport management program, accompanied by faculty members Dr. Cliff McPeak and Dr. Rhema Fuller, recently traveled to the Quicken Loans Arena and Progressive Field in downtown Cleveland for a one-day workshop on ticket sales. Read Article

Dream Week Activities

As a part of last month’s Dream Week activities, Alfred State and Alfred University coordinated a community service called Day of Service. Twenty-three students, staff, and faculty members from both campuses volunteered at various locations around the area, including, Turning Point Catholic Charities, Hornell; Jones Memorial Hospital and Manor Hills, Wellsville; and St. Jude’s Chapel, Alfred. President Anderson Presents Check for “Pennies for Pets” Campaign

Because the estimated cost of spaying/neutering 101 animals is $6,000, students hope to help offset that cost by having each Alfred State student contribute 101 pennies toward that goal. Students will be provided a pair of penny wrappers (donated by Steuben Trust) with a request that they are returned with 101 pennies inside. Read Article

‘Team Alfred’ Enters Solar Decathlon China 2013 in International Collaboration

A total of 37 universities from 13 countries have formed 24 teams that were accepted for the 2013 competition, co-hosted by the China National Energy Administration and the United States Department of Energy. Read Article

Pye to Present “Examining The Shroud of Turin”
