Pioneers and Bulldogs Set to Battle Saturday

The wait for the Alfred State College football team to play on campus is nearly over as the Pioneers are working on final preparations for Saturday's 2008 season opener versus Stevens Tech (Lancaster, PA).  Saturday's 3 p.m. kickoff will mark the first football game played on the college's new athletic complex and the first game in the programs 13-year history to be played on campus. Blue and Gold Win on New Field

The Alfred State College men's soccer team defeated Genesee CC 6-5 in a back-and-forth WNYAC contest on the new athletic complex on campus.  The game was the first soccer game played on the field.  With the victory Alfred improves to 2-1 on the season. Read Article

Lady Pioneers shut out Corning in Opener

The Alfred State College women's soccer team opened up the 2008 season with an impressive 7-0 victory at Corning CC on Thursday.  Six different Lady Pioneers found the back of the net in the victory. Read Article

Pioneers Rally to Earn Split

The Alfred State College baseball team rallied three times in game two of a non-conference doubleheader to salvage a season opening split with Pennsylvania College of Technology.  Penn Tech won the opener 7-1 while A-State won the nightcap 9-8 in eight innings. Read Article

Men's Soccer Falls to HVCC

The Alfred State College men's soccer team could not get out of an early hole and fell 3-1 to Hudson Valley CC in day two of the East-West Showdown at Jamestown CC.  The Pioneers are now 1-1 on the young season. Read Article

Pioneers Win Opener in Overtime

Jason Durst (Gates Chili) scored the game-winner as the Alfred State College men's soccer team downed SUNY Delhi 2-1 in their season opener.  Durst's scored on a header after a corner kick by Justin Handley (Iroquois) during the first overtime session. Read Article

Pioneers Open New Stadium with High Hopes

The Alfred State College football team will play on campus for the first time in program history in 2008 and the Pioneers hope to make some noise in the Northeast Football Conference.  Mick Caba (9th season, 36-44) and his coaching staff believe that an added emphasis on size and speed will pay dividends.
