Six members of the Alfred State College baseball team have been honored by being selected to the All-Region team. Adalberto Vargas (Norman Thomas) and Kyle Binder (Hornell) were named to the 1st team while Andrew Foster (Mississauga, ONT), Jake Dale (Keshequa), Karl Kofmel (Ottawa, ONT), and Kenny O'Brien (Norwalk, CT) were 2nd team selections.

Alfred State College volleyball players Yurika Toyodome (Tokyo, Japan) and Jenni Jerome (Syracuse/Westhill) have signed letter of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at the four-year level. Toyodome will be attending Davenport University (Grand Rapids, MI) and Jerome will be attending Glenville State (Glenville, WV).

State College was the recipient, earlier this month, of the Outstanding Humane
Organization Collaborative Award, presented by the Finger Lakes SPCA.
This award "recognizes the extraordinary compassion and collaborative spirit
with the Finger Lakes SPCA for the benefit of those who cannot speak for
themselves." Alfred State College (students, faculty, and staff)
supported the August 2008 Equine Rescue led by the Finger Lakes SPCA.

The 2009 NJCAA Division III Track and Field Championships came to a close on Saturday at a gusty Pioneer Stadium. The Pioneer men finished 4th overall with 101 points while the women were 7th with 53 points

The Alfred State College men's track & field team remains in first place after day two of the NJCAA Division III National Championships. The men, 78 points, lead Harper College by 10 points heading into the final day of competition. The Lady Pioneers have earned 23 points good for seventh place in the standings.
