Student Wins Scholarship from American Council of Engineering Companies of New York

Now more than ever, given rising tuition costs and a tight economy, academic scholarships to high-achieving students entering the engineering field play an important support role for the recipients.  This year, 16 students in New York State colleges and universities received American Council of Engineering Companies of New York scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $5,000. Dr. Richard Kellogg Author of Article

Dr. Richard Kellogg, professor of psychology at Alfred State College, is the author of an article appearing in the most recent issue of Paperback Parade, a quarterly magazine published by Gryphon Books of Brooklyn.  Titled "Philip Wylie's Final Dream," the article notes that author Philip Wylie (1902-1971) was writing about global warming, contamination of our air and water, and the grave risks of nuclear power long before these issues reached public consciousness. "Snippets" Exhibit at Wellsville Creative Arts Center

Pennisi, instructor in the digital media and animation program of Alfred State College, has an exhibit in the Wellsville Creative Arts Center through June 4.  The exhibit, "Snippets," is comprised of traditional and digital images from three different bodies of work interrelated by process. Outdoor Track & Field Athletes Garner Numerous Awards

Numerous members of the Alfred State College outdoor track & field teams have garnered post season accolades based on their performances at the Region III Championships and the NJCAA Division III Championships.  The men finished 2nd at Regionals and 4th at Nationals while the women finished 4th at Regionals and 7th at Nationals.
