Six Pioneers Earn Lax All-WNYAC

Six members of the Alfred State College lacrosse team have been named All-WNYAC.  Ryan Grogan (Churchville), Josh Mateo (Waterloo), and Mitch Mertel (Churchville) were 1st team selections while William Ardolino (William Floyd), Tony Micelotta (Irondequoit) and Ryan Speciale (Corning West) were named 2nd team. Loder Named All-WNYAC

Alfred State College outfielder Christina Loder (Brantford, ONT) has been named to the All-WNYAC 2nd team.  Loder started in left field in all 36 games for the 13-23 Lady Pioneers. Read Article

Student Wins Scholarship from American Council of Engineering Companies of New York

Now more than ever, given rising tuition costs and a tight economy, academic scholarships to high-achieving students entering the engineering field play an important support role for the recipients.  This year, 16 students in New York State colleges and universities received American Council of Engineering Companies of New York scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $5,000. Dr. Richard Kellogg Author of Article

Dr. Richard Kellogg, professor of psychology at Alfred State College, is the author of an article appearing in the most recent issue of Paperback Parade, a quarterly magazine published by Gryphon Books of Brooklyn.  Titled "Philip Wylie's Final Dream," the article notes that author Philip Wylie (1902-1971) was writing about global warming, contamination of our air and water, and the grave risks of nuclear power long before these issues reached public consciousness.
