WINS Club Fund Raiser For Local Family

Alfred State College’s WINS Club (Women in Non-traditional Studies--though membership is open to all students) recently conducted its annual fund raiser to buy presents for a local family sponsored by Steuben Rural Ministry of Canisteo. Food and Gift Drive For Soldiers

The SkillsUSA Club members of Alfred State College’s School of Applied Technology recently conducted a food and gift drive for the soldiers fighting overseas. Members placed collection boxes in each department on campus and collected and mailed nine boxes of foodstuffs and other items. Read Article

Alfred State Receives $121K Estate Gift

Alfred State College has announced that it has received an estate gift of approximately $121,000 from Dorothy and Lester Reynolds. The Reynolds designated that the gift be used to establish a prize to be awarded annually to the student demonstrating the greatest achievement in the field of mathematics. Read Article

ASC Closes 2009 with Hard Fought Loss to Lakeland

Lakeland (OH) CC won a hard fought 60-48 contest over Alfred State as the Pioneers close out the 2009 portion of their season.  ASC heads into the winter break with a 6-9 mark. Read Article

Turnovers Prove Costly to Lady Pioneers

The Alfred State College women's basketball team couldn't overcome 31 turnovers in a 95-69 loss to Lakeland (OH) CC.  The Lady Pioneers finish the 2009 portion of their season with a 8-6 mark. Read Article

Pioneers Can't Solve ASA

The Alfred State College men's basketball team couldn't hand ASA (Brooklyn) their first loss of the season.  The Pioneers (6-8) fell 97-63 to the Avengers in a contest played at Genesee CC. Read Article

Pioneers Fall to NCCC

The Alfred State College wrestling team fell 34-12 to Niagara CCC in a WNYAC dual match on Friday evening.  The Pioneers are now 1-2-1 (1-1-1 WNYAC) on the season heading into the holiday break. Read Article
