This event began as an opportunity for international students to share part of their culture through the medium of food. The evening diners were delighted to try food from China, Japan, France, Trinidad Tobago, Brazil, Russia, and Puerto Rico.

Students enrolled in the culinary arts programs at the School of Applied Technology of Alfred State College will prepare a holiday buffet on Thursday, Dec. 1, from 5-7 p.m. in the student dining hall of the Culinary Arts Building on the Wellsville campus. Cost is $16 (all inclusive) per person. Children under 10 can eat for $7. Proceeds benefit the Top Hat Scholarship Fund.

Twenty-one Alfred State College students were inducted recently into Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the national Honor Society for two-year colleges. Friends and family of the inductees attended the evening ceremony in the Allegany Room on the Alfred State campus.

The Alfred State College football team claimed the Region III Championship for the 1st time in school history with a 26-20 victory over Erie CC in Orchard Park. The Pioneers withstood a late 4th quarter rally by the Kats and finish the 2011 season with a 6-4 record.
