Bi-annual International Dinner Held on Campus

Culinary Arts Holiday Buffet Dec. 1

Students enrolled in the culinary arts programs at the School of Applied Technology of Alfred State College will prepare a holiday buffet on Thursday, Dec. 1, from 5-7 p.m. in the student dining hall of the Culinary Arts Building on the Wellsville campus. Cost is $16 (all inclusive) per person. Children under 10 can eat for $7. Proceeds benefit the Top Hat Scholarship Fund. Read Article

Public Invited to Reception at Hinkle Gallery Exhibit “Always Lost”

As part of the exhibit, Alfred State College has included the story of one of its own, US Army veteran Joe Greenthal, ASC Class of 2009, payment services assistant at ASC, whose story is included among the permanent stories in the collection. Read Article

WINS Club Hosts MacCrea, '06,

MacCrea, a project engineer at Dresser-Rand, Wellsville, spoke to students from the Computer Imaging and Architectural Engineering Technology Department about what her job entails, her pursuit of continued education, what is expected in the field, and which courses and college activities could help grads in their jobs. PTK Induction Ceremony

Twenty-one Alfred State College students were inducted recently into Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the national Honor Society for two-year colleges. Friends and family of the inductees attended the evening ceremony in the Allegany Room on the Alfred State campus. Read Article

Pioneers Win Regional Title

The Alfred State College football team claimed the Region III Championship for the 1st time in school history with a 26-20 victory over Erie CC in Orchard Park.  The Pioneers withstood a late 4th quarter rally by the Kats and finish the 2011 season with a 6-4 record. Read Article

Student Wins “Head of the Class” Award

An Alfred State College instructor and recent graduate were pictured among the featured photos published on the cover of Malco Back to School News this fall. Jeff Patronek, a faculty member in ASC’s Building Trades Department, is shown congratulating his student Mitch Splawski, Jamestown, class of 2010, who won a “Head of the Class” award in the HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) category. Hoover to Present at New Horizons Forum Nov. 16

Alfred resident Dr. Nadine Hoover, educator and international consultant, will present “Conscience, Peace, and Healing: Always Local, Always Global” at the Alfred State College New Horizons Forum on Wednesday, Nov. 16, in the Allegany Room of Central Dining Hall from 7-8:30 p.m. The presentation is open to the public free of charge.
