Alfred State College will host the 2010 Summer Sports Festival beginning on Monday, June 28th. The summer sports festival will include the 29th annual day camp and the 42nd annual learn-to-swim program.

JP Frey (Erie, PA/McDowell) and Jake Dale (Keshequa) were named to the 1st team while Mark Ciccotti (Horseheads), Kyle Barkley (Penn Yan), Brian Zimmermann (Frontier), and Joe Wallace (Avoca) were 2nd team selections.

Alfred State College wrestler Eric Shedden (Canton, PA) was named the NJCAA recipient of the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Athletes. Shedden is the 14th ASC recipient of the award since its inception in 2004.

The Alfred State College baseball team downed Mercyhurst North East 13-8 in the Region III Division II Tournament to keep their season alive but fell 9-6 to Monroe CC in the loser bracket final to see their season end with a 20-20 record.

Alfred State will take on Mercyhurst North East starting at 11 a.m. followed by Monroe CC taking on Genesee CC at 2 p.m. The winner of the ASC/MNE game will take on the loser of the MCC/GCC game at 5 p.m.
