Pioneers can't overcome poor shooting

The Alfred State College men's basketball team shot just 35.5% from the floor and saw their season come to an end in a 59-54 loss to Genesee CC in a Region III Division II Tournament First Round contest.  The Pioneers end the season with a 19-11 record while the Cougars (13-15) advance to the semifinals to take on #1 Erie CC on Saturday afternoon at Jamestown CC. ASC Alumna Conducts Field Studies in Madagascar

After graduating from Alfred State College, Lindsey transferred to SUNY Geneseo where she's majoring in biology.  As part of her education in this area, Lindsey has spent time learning how to perform field research methods which, she believes, will benefit her future career. Read Article

Longenecker named Region Athlete of the Week

Alfred State College wrestler Gallaway Longenekcer (Manheim, PA) has been named the Region III male athlete of the week.  This is the second straight week that an Alfred male athlete has been honored (Andy Omoregie - Indoor Track & Field). Read Article

Lady Pioneers seeded #2 in Regional Tournament

The Alfred State College women's basketball team has earned the #2 seed in this week's Region III Division II Tournament.  The Lady Pioneers have earned a bye and will play the winner of the #3 Jamestown CC/#6 Niagara County CC 1st round match-up. Read Article

The Alfred State College men's basketball team has earned the #4 seed in this week's Region III Division II Tournament.  The Pioneers will host a first round tournament contest on Tuesday evening versus #5 Genesee CC. Read Article

Dziak qualifies for Nationals

Alfred State College sophomore Keith Dziak (Buffalo/Bishop Timon) qualified for the NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship with a solid run at the Marc Denault Invitational at Cornell University. Read Article

Longenecker finishes 5th

Alfred State College sophomore wrestler Gallaway Longenecker (Manheim, PA) finished 5th and earned All-American status (133 lb. weight class) at the NJCAA National Championships.  Longenecker is the 27th All-American in A-State history and the first wrestler at 133 lbs. to earn All-American since Troy Almeter finished 4th in 1987. A-State downs Niagara

Six players finished in double figures as Alfred State downed Niagara CCC 92-79 to close out the regular season.  A-State heads into the Region III Division II Tournament with a 19-10 overall record and a 8-6 mark in WNYAC play. Read Article

Lady Pioneers win regular season finale

The Alfred State College women's basketball team wrapped up the regular season with a 70-53 victory at Niagara County CC.  With the win the Lady Pioneers improve to 17-8 (8-4 WNYAC & 8-2 Region III Division II). Read Article
