The growth is attributed to the fact that Alfred State College is an excellent value with quality programs and graduates enjoy a placement and transfer rate of 99 percent. According to College President Dr. John M. Anderson, the College made this decision because of the on-going reduction of State support as well as the failure of the New York State Legislature to pass the Public Higher Education Empowerment and Innovation Act (PHEEIA).
