Lady Pioneers Fall in '08 Finale

Genesee CC jumped out to a 15-2 lead and never looked back en route to a 70-45 victory over Alfred State in the WNYAC opener for both teams.  ASC ends the 2008 portion of the season with a 4-7 mark while GCC evens up their record at 3-3. Read Article

Four Pioneers Place at Niagara Open

Four members of the Alfred State College wrestling team placed at this weekend's Niagara CCC Open.  Mike Gustafson (Warren, PA) earned 3rd place at 133, Derek Noldy (Rushboro, PA) was 4th at 174, and Daniel Steiger (Miller Place) and Peter Cole (Baldwinsville) both finished 6th at 184 and 125 respectfully. Pioneer Swimmers Compete at Fredonia

The Alfred State College men's swimming team competed versus NCAA Division III competition at the SUNY Fredonia Blue Devil Invitational this weekend.  The Pioneers scored 288 points in the three-day event. Read Article

Lady Pioneers Down Elmira JV

The Alfred State College women's basketball team raced out to a 37-16 lead at halftime en route to a 57-47 victory over Elmira JV on Sunday afternoon.  The win snaps a two game slide and improves the Lady Pioneers to 4-6 on the season. Read Article

Doorley Named Coach of the Year

Alfred State College volleyball coach Gene Doorley has earned two national Coach of the Year awards.  For the third straight season Doorley has been named the American Volleyball Coaches Association Northeast Coach of the Year and for the second straight season he has been named the NJCAA Division III District A Coach of the Year. Lady Pioneers fall to U of R

The Alfred State College women's basketball team fell 72-65 to the JV squad from the University of Rochester on Thursday evening.  U of R was 12 for 13 from the foul line to seal the victory. Read Article

Toyodome and Jerome Named All-American

Alfred State College sophomores Yurika Toyodome (Tokyo, Japan) and Jenni Jerome (Syracuse/Westhill) have been named All-Americans by the Division III of the NJCAA.  Toyodome was a first team selection while Jerome was named honorable mention. Read Article

Pioneers fall versus Finger Lakes

The Alfred State College men's basketball team rallied from a 22-point second half deficit to cut it to three, 67-64, but couldn't make it all the way back and fell 69-64 to Finger Lakes CC.  ASC falls to 6-6 on the season. Read Article

Lady Pioneer Comeback Falls Short

The Alfred State College women's basketball team couldn't come back from a first half deficit and fell 64-50 to Finger Lakes CC on Tuesday.  FLCC used a 17-0 run in the last seven minutes of the half to lead 31-17 and held off a Lady Pioneer second half rally that closed the gap to four points.  Read Article

Brooks Named Region Athlete of the Week

Alfred State College women's basketball player Brittney Brooks (Elmira Free) has been named the Region III female athlete of the week.  Brooks led her team to the championship of the ASC Tournament with victories over Jefferson CC, 63-45, and Dean College, 76-69. Read Article
