Timothy Harris, a 1977 Alfred State graduate, credits the college with helping launch his successful technology career and shaping generations of his family, including his father, a longtime mathematics professor, and his mother, a nursing graduate. After continuing his education at Cornell and Northwestern and holding leadership positions at Compaq and Questia Media, Tim and his wife, Wendy, gave back through a major gift that renovated the college’s largest classroom and an adjoining student lounge. The resulting Harris Hall honors his family’s deep connection to Alfred State while providing modern spaces for learning and collaboration. For Tim, the gift expresses gratitude and helps ensure future students have the same opportunities his family received.
