Dr. Melvin Chambliss received the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, while Dr. Douglas Pierson was honored with the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Faculty Service. Dr. Jon Owejan was the recipient of the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities, and Deborah Pratt received the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Classified Service. ASC Expecting Increase of Students this Fall

Despite a decline in the number of high school graduates in New York State, the ASC orientation class is growing by 15 percent. Alfred State also has a 15 percent increase for incoming students who made their deposit to secure their future as a Pioneer. Read Article

Registration open for STEM Summer Institute at Alfred State

Taking place July 29-31, the institute is hosted by the New York State STEM Education Collaborative, and provides a way for kindergarten-through-college-level educators to learn new techniques for engaging students of all ages in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers. New energy-efficient boilers replace heating plant

Since 2013, Alfred State has been involved in a boiler decentralization project to remove the buildings’ dependency on the heating plant in favor of new energy-efficient boilers. Read Article
