Shell of Workforce Development Center Completed

Supporters of Alfred State College gathered at the School of Applied Technology campus recently to celebrate the completion of Phase I of the Construction Workforce Development Center-the shell has been completed and the building fully enclosed.  It awaits funding to complete the interior.  Read Article

Commencement Scheduled for May 17

Nearly 900 two-and four-year graduates, their families, professors, and friends will be on hand Sunday, May 17, at noon, as Alfred State College honors its 98th graduating class. Presiding over the ceremony will be Dr. John M. Anderson, college president. The ceremony will be held at McLane Center on the neighboring Alfred University campus. Graduates will need to use the tickets in their graduation packets for their families' admission. Read Article

Alumni Choral Spring Concert - Sunday, April 26

Alfred State College presents the 58th Annual Alumni Choral Spring Concert, under the direction of Anthony Cappadonia, ASC director of vocal music emeritus.  The concert will be held Sunday, April 26, at 2 p.m. in the Orvis Activities Center Auditorium on the Alfred State College campus. Michelle Green, MPS, RHIA, FAHIMA (NY), CMA (AAMA), CPC,  PCS, SUNY (State University of New York) Distinguished Teaching Professor, Physical and Life Sciences Department, Alfred State College, was named among the Top 10 in HIM (health information management), as published in the Advance for Health Information Professionals newsmagazine. Thomas Golisano, founder and chair of the board of directors of Paychex, Inc., Rochester, the second-largest payroll processor in the United States, and 1962 general business management graduate of Alfred State College, will receive an honorary doctorate of humane letters, at his alma mater's commencement ceremony, Sunday, May 17, 2009.
