Wilkes Signs with WV Wesleyan

Alfred State running back Kevin Wilkes (Frederick, MD/Urbana) became the 5th Pioneer to sign a National Letter of Intent to continue their academic and athletic at a NCAA school. Wilkes recently signed with West Virginia Wesleyan University. Read Article

Alfred State Set for NJCAA Track Nationals

Alfred State is ready to host the 2012 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The three-day event begins on Thursday morning and runs until Saturday afternoon when the National Champion is crowned. In total 22 teams and 335 athletes are slated to compete in the competition held at Pioneer Stadium. Read Article

The Alfred State offense struggled to get going in a doubleheader vs. Corning CC. The Red Barons swept the pair of Region III Division III contests 10-1 and 7-0. The Lady Pioneers were held to just five singles on the day. Read Article

Baseball Tripped up by FLCC

The Alfred State baseball team collected 27 hits in a doubleheader with Finger Lakes CC but the Lakers offense was just as productive in a sweep of a Region III Division III doubleheader, 15-10 in nine innings and 16-3. Read Article

The Alfred State outdoor track & field team registered ten victories in day two of the Region III Championships held at SUNY Delhi. The Pioneer men finished 2nd in the standings out of five teams while the women placed 4th. Read Article

FLCC Rallies in Both Games to Down Pioneers

Finger Lakes CC rallied in the 5th inning of both games of a Region III Division III doubleheader to defeat Alfred State 4-2 & 10-4 on Saturday afternoon. In the opener, Alfred led 2-1 heading into the 5th before the Lakers scored three to take the lead for good and in the nightcap the Pioneers led 4-2 before the Lakers scored three in the 5th en route to the victory.
