A-State to Induct Three into Hall of Fame

The Alfred State College athletic department will induct three new members into the Athletic Hall of Fame on January 26.  Kathryn Stedman (volleyball & softball), Joseba Sarriegui (cross country & track & field), and Mike Brown (baseball) will be inducted at a brunch ceremony in the Allegany Room of Central Dining Hall and then honored in between games of the basketball doubleheader with Jamestown CC the same afternoon. Athletes Back on Campus

Alfred State College athletes are back on campus preparing to begin play in 2008.  The men's and women's basketball teams, the wrestling team, and the swimming team began practicing on Sunday while the Indoor Track & Field team returns to campus on Thursday. Read Article

Smith Named Region Athlete of the Week

Alfred State College sophomore forward Anthia Smith (Elmira Free) has been named the Region III Female Athlete of the Week.  Smith had double-doubles in both of the Lady Pioneers victories this past week. Read Article

Pioneers win 11th of 2007

The Alfred State College men's basketball team won a hard fought physical contest with SUNY Orange, 64-53, on Saturday afternoon.  With the win the Pioneers end the 2007 portion of the season winners of three straight and 11-4 overall.  The Colts fall to 3-7 on the year. Read Article

Lady Pioneers wrap up '07 with victory

The Alfred State College women's basketball team wrapped up the the 2007 portion with a hard fought 78-71 victory over SUNY Orange.  The Lady Pioneers have three straight and eight of their last nine and are 9-3 on the year. Read Article

The Alfred State men's basketball team had three players finish in double figures as they improved to 10-4 with a 68-63 victory over Finger Lakes CC. Read Article

Smith has huge game as A-State downs FLCC

Anthia Smith (Elmira Free) led all scorers with 18 points and grabbed a career high 26 rebounds as Alfred State downed Finger Lakes CC 78-72.  A-State improves to 8-3 on the year while FLCC falls to 9-3. Read Article

Chisolm & Septh Named All-American

Alfred State College sophomore football players John Chisolm (Trenton, NJ) and Mike Septh (Monroe Woodbury) have been named NJCAA All-Americans.  Chisolm was named a second team defensive back while Septh was named an honorable mention wide receiver. Read Article

ASC 11-better than Dean

The Alfred State College men's basketball team bounced back from a tough loss on Saturday with a hard fought 60-49 win over Dean College on Sunday afternoon.  With the win the Blue and Gold improve to 9-4 on the year. Read Article

Lady Pioneers down Dean

For the second time in eight days the Alfred State College women's basketball team won a tight contest versus Dean College.  On Sunday afternoon in Franklin, MA the Lady Pioneers improved to 7-3 on the year with a 79-70 victory. Read Article
