Swimming Dives Into New Season

The Alfred State College swimming team began the 2008-09 season by competing at the Geneseo Invitational.  Both the men's and women's team finished 5th in the competition that featured SUNY Geneseo, SUNY Brockport, Alfred University, and Monroe CC. Read Article

Pioneers Roll Past X-Men

The Alfred State College football team racked up 600 yards of offense (392 yards rushing and 221 yards passing) as they downed the Niagara X-Men 63-20 in their final non-conference game of the season.  With the win the Pioneers improve to 4-4 overall on the season Read Article

Men's Soccer Wins, Advances to Finals

The Alfred State College men's soccer team advanced to the Region III Division III finals with a 1-0 victory over #3 SUNY Delhi.  The Pioneers, ranked #5 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll, improve to 14-3 on the season and will take on the #1 seeded Herkimer CCC in the finals on Sunday Read Article

Lady Pioneers Move On

The Alfred State College volleyball team swept Corning CC 25-11, 25-10, 25-8 in the Region III Division III quarterfinals on Saturday.  The Lady Pioneers will take on #5 Mohawk Valley CC in the semifinals on Sunday. Read Article

Three Lady Pioneers Earn All-Region Soccer Honors

The 2008 Region III Division III women's soccer All-Region team were anounced this week and three Lady Pioneers were honored. Freshman midfielder Shelby Winchester (Maple Grove), freshman forward Jessie Smith (Fredonia) and freshman defender Audrey Rath (Medina) were each named to the second team. Read Article

Health Information Technology Graduates Achieve 100 Percent Pass Rate

Graduates of Alfred State College's Internet-based health information technology (HIT) program, Class of 2008, achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) national certification exam. Alfred State College is represented by six players on the All-WNYAC team announced recently.  Hiroshi Ozaki (Tokyo, Japan), Caleb Drake (Jasper Troupsburg), Lucas Wales (Bath Haverling), and Dan Fabiny (Wellsville) were 1st team selections while Kevin Arilotta (Churchville) and Jason Durst (Gates Chili) were named to the 2nd team. Alfred State College Will Stage the Play, A New Brain

Alfred State College will stage the play, A New Brain, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Nov. 14-16, in the Orvis Activities Auditorium. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Sunday. Cost of admission is $3 for students and $5 for the general public. Read Article
