ASC Awarded $60,000 Grant – Adds Five Emergency Sirens

“Three of the units will be added to the Alfred campus, while two others will be placed on the Wellsville campus,” said Greg Sammons, Chief of Police and coordinator of the grant application. “Once in place, the four sirens on the Alfred campus and two on the Wellsville campus will significantly enhance the volume of the sirens for people walking anywhere between buildings and in many cases, will penetrate the buildings and reach indoor classrooms and offices quite well. The Alfred State College women's basketball team closed out the 2010 portion of their schedule with a 95-35 win over Houghton JV.  The Lady Pioneers will head into 2011 with a 10-4 mark. Read Article

Students Inducted into ASC Chapter of Mu Alpha Theta

Five students at Alfred State College were recently inducted as charter members into the ASC Chapter of Mu Alpha Theta, a national mathematics honor society for high schools and two-year colleges.  They were presented with certificates and membership cards during the induction ceremony. Pioneers Wrestle at Niagara

The Alfred State College wrestling team spent the weekend competing at Niagara CCC.  On Friday, the Pioneers lost a close dual meet with Penn State DuBois 25-22 and then had four wrestlers finish in the top five of the Niagara Open on Saturday. Read Article
