Peet Finishes 5th at NYS Championships

Tyler Peet (Unadilla Valley) led the Alfred State College wrestling team with a 5th place finish at the New York State Championships this weekend at SUNY Binghamton.  ASC finished 17th out of 19 teams in the competition with 16.5 points. Read Article

Monroe CC led throughout as they defeated Alfred State 64-48 in a WNYAC contest Saturday afternoon at the Orvis Activities Center.  MCC improves to 10-7 on the year while ASC falls to 3-12. Read Article

Lady Pioneers Drop Tough Contest

The Alfred State College women's basketball team fell 69-66 at Mercyhurst North East in a WNYAC battle that came down to the final seconds.  The Lady Pioneers had three shots in the final moments that rimmed out that would have sent the game into overtime. Read Article

Saints Use 1st Half Run to Down Pioneers

Mercyhurst North East outscored Alfred State 9-2 in the final three minutes of the first half to break a 21-21 en route to a 77-67 WNYAC victory.  ASC is now 3-11 (0-2 WNYAC) on the season while MNE is 10-3 (1-1). Read Article

Coach Herman Boone to Speak at Campus-wide Leadership Retreat

Coach Herman Boone, whose life and leadership inspired the film Remember the Titans, will be addressing student leaders at Alfred State College as part of the campus-wide Living Your Legacy Leadership Retreat on Saturday, Jan. 22 at 12:45 p.m. in the Orvis Auditorium. This speaking event is open to the community, but all other aspects of the retreat are closed and open only to registered retreat participants. Read Article

Tracksters Open up Indoor Season

The Alfred State College indoor track & field team opened up their season with an impressive showing at the RIT Invitational.  The Pioneers had three event winners on the day in competition versus mainly four-year schools. Read Article

ASC drops 2011 Opener

The Alfred State College men's basketball team returned to action after over a month off and fell 66-50 in their 2011 and WNYAC opener.  ASC led 25-24 at half but was unable to hold the lead.  The Pioneers are now 3-10 on the season. Read Article

The Alfred State College women's basketball team could not rally all the way back and fell 64-51 to Jamestown CC in their Western New York Athletic Conference opener.  ASC is now 10-6 on the year while JCC, ranked #17 in Division II of the NJCAA, improves to 16-3. Read Article

ASC Alumnus Supplies ACES Dining Services

“I worked for ACES catering when I was in college and over the summer and I knew that they sometimes used edible flowers for their dishes. I approached Bron Norasethaporn, the catering manager, to see if he would be willing to buy flowers from me,” Kacalski said. Read Article
