Professor Ebert Invited to Serve on Provost's Advisory Group for SUNY Assessment Initiative

Kathleen Casey Ebert, Wellsville, professor of mathematics and statistics at Alfred State College, has been invited to serve on the Provost's Advisory Group for the SUNY (State University of New York) Assessment Initiative as a representative of faculty, the GEAR (General Education Assessment Review) committee group, and the Colleges of Technology. Hinkle Memorial Library "Makeover"

The Hinkle Memorial Library on the Alfred State College campus has been undergoing an “extreme makeover” during the summer which included new carpeting, new furniture, new window treatments, and re-positioning of furniture on the main floor. Read Article

Back to School 2009

16th Annual New Student Convocation

Alfred State College faculty and staff welcomed this year's incoming freshman class of 1,500 students during the 16th annual New Student Convocation. This year's speakers were Dr. Daniel Barwick, ASC Director of Institutional Advancement; Alfred J. LaMere, Rochester, Student Senate president; and Tim Waterman,’02, Niagara Falls, who gave the welcome from alumni. Read Article

Men's Soccer Ranked 6th in Preseason Poll

New head coach Jason Gildner and the Alfred State College men's soccer team will enter the 2009 season in the NJCAA Division III National Poll.  The Pioneers, who finished 2008 with a 14-4 mark, are ranked 6th in the preseason poll. Read Article

Volleyball team ranked #5 in NJCAA Preseason Poll

The Alfred State College volleyball team is ranked #5 in the preseason NJCAA Division III poll released this week.  The Lady Pioneers are coming off a 2008 season in which they finished 4th in the nation with a program best 38-4 record. Read Article

Newly Renamed Theta Gamma House

Alfred State College honored history and tradition recently as it re-christened the Victorian House to better reflect the college’s history and to honor Theta Gamma, a fraternal organization whose members used the building as their lodging for decades. Read Article
