Huge 2nd Half Lifts Lakers

Lakeland CC used a monster 2nd half to ease past Alfred State 94-71 on Saturday afternoon.  The Lakers used a 45 to 17 run and tallied 62 points in the 2nd to improve to 19-7 on the year. Read Article

Lady Pioneers Keep Rolling

The Alfred State women's basketball team used a 27-0 run to run past Lakeland (OH) CC in their final non-conference contest of the season.  The Lady Pioneers have now won six straight games and are 16-8 on the year. Read Article

Swimming Districts: Day One Wrap

The Alfred State swimming team had three top six finishes during day one at the Northeast Districts/Region III Championships. Read Article

Pioneers Track Finishes 3rd at Regionals

Both the Alfred State men's and women's indoor track & field team finished 3rd at the Region III Championships held in conjunction with the RIT Orange & Brown Invitational. The women scored 96 points while the men scored 86. Read Article

Colomaio Photo Exhibit in Library

The Hinkle Memorial Library on the Alfred State campus will host a photo exhibit by faculty member Social and Behavioral Sciences Department at the college, through March 25. A photographer’s reception will be held Thursday, March 1, from 4-6 p.m.  All are welcome. Read Article

Students Travel to Cleveland for Workshop

Six students enrolled in Alfred State’s sport management program, accompanied by faculty members Dr. Cliff McPeak and Dr. Rhema Fuller, recently traveled to the Quicken Loans Arena and Progressive Field in downtown Cleveland for a one-day workshop on ticket sales. Read Article

Pioneers Win at the Buzzer

Pat Parker (Queens/Hillcrest) hit a three-pointer as time expired to lift the Alfred State men's basketball team to a 58-56 victory over Monroe CC.  The victory snaps a Pioneers five game losing skid and improves the team to 7-18 (2-10 WNYAC). Read Article

Lady Pioneers win 5th Straight

After a slow start, the Alfred State women's basketball team raced past Roberts Wesleyan JV 70-45 in a non-conference tilt.  The Raiders jumped out to a 12-7 lead but the Pioneers answered with a 32 to 8 run to close out the half. Read Article

Dream Week Activities

As a part of last month’s Dream Week activities, Alfred State and Alfred University coordinated a community service called Day of Service. Twenty-three students, staff, and faculty members from both campuses volunteered at various locations around the area, including, Turning Point Catholic Charities, Hornell; Jones Memorial Hospital and Manor Hills, Wellsville; and St. Jude’s Chapel, Alfred.
