Nursing Dept. Continues to “Pay It Forward”

The Alfred State Nursing Department continued its “Pay It Forward” philosophy through the awarding of its sixth annual round of “Pay It Forward” scholarships, established during the fall 2006 semester and presented to this year’s recipients, Marlene Cocchetto, Arkport; Douglas Elliott, Arcade, and Meghan Walters, Branchport, who each received $150 and good wishes from the class of 2006. CCET to Offer Small Animal First Aid Training Class

As part of Alfred State’s continuing Center for Community Education and Training will offer a small animal first aid training class on Monday, March 26, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. in room 223 of the Agriculture Science Building. NCAA grants exploratory status to Alfred State

The NCAA Division III membership committee announced this week that it has granted exploratory status to the Alfred State athletic program. Alfred State submitted the NCAA application in January. Read Article

Pioneers Can't Hang On

The Alfred State men's basketball team led by 13 at half but was unable to hold on and fell 85-82 to Genesee CC in the final road contest of the season.  The Pioneers are now 7-20 overall and 2-11 in WNYAC play. Read Article

Lady Pioneers make it Seven Straight

The Alfred State women's basketball team earned their seventh straight victory on Tuesday with a 86-74 victory over Genesee CC.  The Lady Pioneers are now 17-8 overall and 6-3 in Region III Division II play. Read Article

Votava and Giglio Named Athletes of the Week

Indoor track athlete Megan Votava (Alfred Almond) and swimmer Jake Giglio (Hornell) have been named the Alfred State athletes of the week by the SID office. Read Article

Men's Swimming Finishes 4th at Districts

The Alfred State men's swimming team finished 4th out of 11 teams at the 2012 Northeast Districts/Region III Championships. The Pioneers scored 226 points in the three-day event held at Monroe CC. Read Article
