Hart Named All-Region and All-WNYAC, Lowry and Stowell Named All-WNYAC

The postseason awards for the Alfred State lacrosse team have come in and Mike Hart (Ajax, ONT) was named 2nd team All-Region and 1st team All-WNYAC. Attackmen Chance Lowry (Waterloo) and goalie Brad Stowell (Marcellus) were both named 2nd team All-WNYAC. Read Article

Alfred State alum Rod Streater is making an impression as he battles for a spot on the Oakland Raiders roster. Streater went undrafted in the NFL draft but quickly signed with the Raiders following the conclusion of the draft. Read Article

Chief Sustainability Officer Named

Alfred State is pleased to announce that Julian Dautremont-Smith has joined the campus community as chief sustainability officer at the college. He has served in several related positions, including as associate director for the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). Read Article

The Opportunity of a Lifetime at Bonneville Salt Flats

Alfred State students are poised to make their own run with one of the college’s alternative fuel vehicles – a green initiative about to meet the need for speed. A prime demonstration of project-based learning, the students have rebuilt or modified much of the car as they’ve learned to make it race ready. Bensley One of 18 Selected Nationwide for Workshop

Physical and Health Sciences Department was one of 18 people nationwide who was recently selected to attend the Nucleic Acid Chemistry workshop at Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. This workshop is a part of the National Science Foundation-sponsored Chemistry Collaborations, Workshops and Communities of Scholars (cCWCS) program. Read Article

Alfred State Becomes Partner in CeCet

Alfred State is pleased to announce its partnership to become a part of the Center for Evaluation of Clean Energy Technology (CeCeT) that is implementing a photovoltaic (PV) and wind equipment test facility. The new PV and wind test centers will operate as the core of CeCeT’s network of renewable energy resources. Read Article
