Alfred State to Celebrate “Earth Week”

Alfred State, in partnership with Alfred University and Alfred residents, has announced a week-long series of events planned in celebration of Earth Day. 62nd Annual Alumni Choral Spring Concert Scheduled

Alfred State is pleased to present the 62nd Annual Alumni Choral Spring Concert, directed by Anthony Cappadonia, professor emeritus of music at Alfred State. The concert will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the Anthony C. Cappadonia Auditorium, Orvis Activities Center, on the Alfred campus, and is free of charge and open to the public. "New Voices: A Showcase of One Acts" to be featured April 19 & 20

"New Voices: A Showcase of One Acts" is a collaboration between Hornell Community Theatre and Alfred State Drama Club to encourage people interested in theater to try new roles. Five short one-acts are being produced as a show to allow individuals from the greater Hornell community and Alfred State to try their hand at directing, acting, script writing, or other creative aspects of theater. Dr. Kellogg authors new book, Barry Baskerville Solves a Case

Dr. Richard Kellogg, Professor Emeritus of Psychology at Alfred State, is the author of a new book titled BARRY BASKERVILLE SOLVES A CASE. The children's story, beautifully illustrated by graphic artist Gary Kato, is about a precocious youngster who aspires to become a famous detective like his role-model Sherlock Holmes. Read Article

Alfred University, Alfred State co-sponsoring Anabaptist expert’s talk on Amish forgiveness

Alfred University and Alfred State are co-sponsoring a two-day visit to the community and campuses by scholar/lecturer Dr. Donald B. Kraybill, internationally recognized for his work on Anabaptist (radical movement of the 16th-century Reformation that viewed baptism solely as an external witness to a believer's conscious profession of faith, rejected infant baptism, and believed in the separation of church from state, the shunning of non-believers, and in simplicity of life) groups.
