Alfred State Professor Torpey completes NYC Marathon

An associate professor in the Computer and Information Technology Department, Torpey ran in the NYC Marathon for the first time. After 3 hours, 35 minutes, and 38 seconds, he crossed the finish line, averaging an impressive 8:14 per mile or 7.2 mph. Read Article

Construction on House 55 underway

Educational Foundation of Alfred, Inc. welcomes Smith as new board member

An instructor in the Automotive Trades Department, Smith joined the Alfred State faculty in 2015. In this position, he instructs freshman automotive students. Read Article

Evelyn Turner and Culinary Arts Dept. support local veterans group

During the college’s Festa Italiana dinner, Turner donated $5,000 to the veterans group. In addition to Turner’s generosity, the Culinary Art Department’s fundraiser dinner, bake sale, and donation jar from that day raised roughly $4,000 for the organization. Read Article
