Muhleisen and Frazer Named September Athletes of the Month

Women's soccer player Kali Muhleisen (Alfred Almond) and football player Colin Frazer (Woodbridge, VA) have been named the Alfred State athletes of the month for September.

Muhleisen has netted four hat tricks as the Lady Pioneer soccer team has raced out to a 10-1 record.  She leads the team with 44 points on 19 goals and six assists.  She has recorded points in nine of the blue & gold's eleven games.  Currently she is 4th in NJCAA in both goals and points on the year for the #4 ranked Pioneers.

Braun and Porter Named Athletes of the Week

Volleyball player Lera Braun (Waterloo) and men's soccer player Mitchell Porter (Alfred Almond) have been named the Alfred State athletes of the week. Braun helped the Lady Pioneers to a 3-1 week while Porter and the Pioneers were 1-1. Read Article

Pioneers Roll Over Cayuga

The Alfred State men's soccer team got the offense going in a 6-0 victory over Cayuga CC on Saturday afternoon. The win improves the team to 3-6-3 on the year and 3-5-2 in Region III Division III play. Read Article

Nine different Pioneers were credited with points as the Alfred State women's soccer team downed Cayuga CC 8-0. The #4 ranked blue & gold scored four goals in each half to improve to 10-1 (9-0 Region III Division III) on the year. Read Article

The Alfred State volleyball team had another impressive Saturday as they swept through the Finger Lakes CC Pod. With wins over Mohawk Valley CC, SUNY Delhi, and Herkimer CCC the Lady Pioneers are now 17-7 overall and 12-3 in Region III Division III play. Read Article

The Alfred State volleyball team fell 17-25, 22-25, 22-25 to Jamestown CC in a WNYAC match on Wednesday evening. The Lady Pioneers are now 14-7, 1-3 WNYAC while the Jayhawks are 17-5, 2-2 WNYAC. Read Article

Athletic Department Announces 2012 Hall of Fame Class

The Alfred State athletic department will induct five new members into the hall of fame during 2012 Homecoming/Family Weekend festivities. Longtime athletic director Kathy Feldman, basketball player Larry Mulcahy, softball player Jodie Corsi, cross country & track and field athlete David Dominguez, and pole vaulter Kurt Dunn will join the Hall of Fame on October 12th. Cross Country Ranked 2nd

Both Alfred State cross country teams have moved up the #2 spot in the latest NJCAA Division III poll. The men made a jump from the #7 spot last week while the women climbed from the #5 spot. Read Article
