Alfred State Culinary Arts to host Spaghetti Dinner

The Alfred State College (ASC) Culinary Arts department will host a drive-thru spaghetti dinner on September 22 at the Culinary Arts Building on the Wellsville campus. Proceeds of the event will benefit the program’s scholarship fund. Read Article

Nursing Department to host site visit

The nursing department at Alfred State will be hosting a site visit for initial accreditation of the baccalaureate in nursing program by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Read Article

Alfred State conducts reality-based Shelter-In-Place Drill

Dr. David Ray and his criminal justice class acted quickly to neutralize the threat and the emergency drill was deemed a success. Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Gregory Sammons donned the defensive suit and simulated the threat for this exercise. He noted “it was an affirmation of our readiness to find so many doors locked and people taking the right precautions. I also want to congratulate Dr. Ray and his class for their physically assertive response. They were not passive, and I had no chance to act before they had me immobilized on the floor.”   Read Article

EOP students assist Habitat for Humanity

Alfred State College (ASC) students in the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) worked with the Corning Habitat for Humanity office on a civic engagement project. Thirty-one students participated in the project. Read Article
