Kiddie Ag Day a great success

CCET to host dog behavior seminars

Fine art photography on display at Hinkle Memorial Library in October

A total of 18 color photographs will be on display in an exhibit titled “From Whence We Came,” which comes from a speech by John. F. Kennedy Jr. before the 1962 America’s Cup in Newport, RI. All of the photographs are of water in a variety of settings and locations, many of which have been captured using long-exposure photography. Read Article

Summer Prep Academy helps new students adjust to college life

Alfred State developed the Summer Preparation Academy, a four-week program designed to help freshmen accepted through the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) and the Alfred State Opportunity Program (ASOP) become adjusted to the academic and personal challenges they would face as they began college. FPA Conference a valuable experience for students

The students had access to more than 30 trainings on financial planning topics and were able to interact with hundreds of financial planners and financial companies from across the nation. They were also able to have formal and informal interviews with many different companies. Read Article

When considering all factors in the Best Colleges rankings, Alfred State advanced seven spots, coming in at 12th place overall for regional colleges in the North, up from last year’s 19th ranking. Read Article

Craig Clark named new executive director of Allegany County IDA

Allegany County is pleased to announce that Craig Clark, PE, Ph.D., vice president for Economic Development at Alfred State and economic developer for Allegany County, will be the executive director of the Allegany County Industrial Development Agency (ACIDA). Read Article

New psychology minor available

Dr. Jill Amati, chair of the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department, which houses the minor, said, “The psychology minor is a great addition for our students.  It complements Alfred State’s baccalaureate programs and offers students the opportunity to specialize their degree plan in a way that relates to their major.”  Read Article
