Educational Foundation of Alfred, Inc. continues scholarship assistance

The Educational Foundation of Alfred, Inc. continues to partner with Alfred State students to contribute to their success at Alfred State College (ASC).  The foundation supports ASC with many different forms of support, including providing much-needed scholarship assistance.

Wreck/Rebuild program continues to benefit autobody students

Alfred State autobody students continued to gain hands-on, real-world experience through the wreck/rebuild program funded by the Education Foundation of Alfred, Inc.

Students in the autobody repair major, led by CJ Tremper and Brad Smith, enhance their skills sets by fixing wrecking vehicles and gain insight into what it is like to work inside a collision shop. Tremper and Smith teach and work alongside students throughout their time in the program.

Cornelius joins the Education Foundation Board

The Educational Foundation of Alfred, Inc., a private foundation representing faculty, staff, and friends of Alfred State College (ASC), recently added Justin Cornelius to their board. Kishan Zuber, the college’s new Vice President for Enrollment Management, has also joined as an ex-officio member.

Alfred State Skills USA students ready to represent at National Competition

Six Alfred State students will represent the college at the National SkillsUSA Championship in Atlanta, GA.  The competition will take place June 19-23.

To qualify for the National Championships, these six students won their competition at the 2023 SkillsUSA New York State Leadership and Skills Conference Postsecondary Championship held at Alfred State’s Wellsville campus on Saturday, April 1.

Educational Foundation of Alfred, Inc. continues to support peer tutoring at Alfred State

Peer tutoring services at Alfred State continue to benefit from the ongoing support of the Educational Foundation of Alfred, Inc. The generous annual donation of $6,500 has helped students achieve success and continue towards their academic goals.

Peer tutoring services at Alfred State continue to benefit from the ongoing support of the Educational Foundation of Alfred, Inc. The generous annual donation of $6,500 has helped students achieve success and continue towards their academic goals.

Since the 2010-2011 academic year, the Foundation has provided funding to the college’s peer tutoring program. As a result, the program has fulfilled more than 2,162 student requests, providing more than 12,783 hours of support.

Autobody students continue to benefit from wreck/rebuild program

“I like being hands-on. We have lectures and go through the basics, and we talk through everything that we will experience in the real world. Getting hands-on you learn more, experience it, and you know exactly what is going to happen. When I go into the industry, I will already have done it.”

The autobody wreck/rebuild program continues to benefit Alfred State College (ASC) students preparing for their career with hands-on education experiences.

Under the guidance of instructors CJ Tremper and Brad Smith, students in the autobody program enhance their skills sets by fixing wrecked vehicles to gain insight into what it is like to work inside a live collision shop. Currently there are six cars in the shop that are being repaired.

Green, the Human Resource Director at Jones Memorial Hospital, will serve on the property and by-laws committees. 

President’s Society Dinner honors Bethesda Foundation

The Bethesda Foundation was honored for their continued support of Alfred State College at the President’s Society Dinner. The Foundation was awarded the President’s Medallion.

The Bethesda Foundation of Hornell is a non-profit charitable organization devoted to the funding and support of health-related projects and scholarships for the Hornell community. It was created in 1986 after the Bethesda Hospital closed in 1985.
