What is the Pioneer Leaders Award?
This is a pre-scholarship granted to high school juniors who demonstrate academic potential. High school counselors may nominate up to two deserving students who meet the requirements listed below. Selected students will receive a scholarship as long as they enroll at Alfred State College for the fall semester immediately following their high school graduation.
Students may also be considered for additional merit-based scholarships, federal aid, and other scholarship opportunities, presenting a high-value savings that recognizes hard work.
Benefits
Pioneer Leaders awardees receive:
- Free application.
- Pioneer Leaders Award (pre-scholarship).
- Preferred sign-ups for first-year housing.
- Invited to a special on campus event.
The pre-scholarship guarantees a minimum of $1,500 per year for students pursuing a 2-year associate degree and $4,000 per year for those seeking a 4-year bachelor's degree. While students may be considered for additional merit-based scholarships, the scholarship amount awarded at the time of admission will not exceed the maximum merit scholarship levels set by the college.
